Will the police do anything? ebay seller reporting me :S?

Postby jocheved » Tue Jul 24, 2012 2:46 pm

I bought an item online on ebay from a seller, it didnt show up. contacted them, and they say they are suspicious of me as they have already refunded me twice on different occasions :S If I had known I was buying from this source who were unreliable and abusive before to me I wouldn't have ordered, I didnt know they were the same person. They say they are reporting my ebay accounts and contacting the police as they said i am a fraudster?? I mean wtf? All I did was report my item as not having arrived...simple as that, I did not ask for a refund just a check of my address and progress. I am suspicious of them tbh as this is the 3rd item i had yet to receive. anyway the item arrived this morning but was just left outside my door :/ hardly safe really. personally so annoyed, i am a law abiding person, no record nothing. I dont see what they are going to do? any help/advise? i have had previous items go missing/never arrive and they say that the amount is suspicious well yeah thats why i reported the items as not received. I have like 98% feedback, lots of good feedback too, odd bad feedback but nothing really bad. I wish I hadnt bothered using ebay again, but there you go. now they are getting me investigated, what will happen? will the police do anything? i am innocent so i dont see how they can do anything as there is no proof of wrong doing really, just worried because like i say i have never done anything wrong or had any involvement in the police?

Report them. The police probably wont do much. But ebay and paypal will investigate it if youare both disputing the sale of the good and payment for them.

Relax; the Police do not have the time to spend on such a trivial accusation. You could have defended yourself with eBay/Paypal, and not take it lying down, but maybe too late now. Put it down to life experience! There are lot of honest members on eBay, as well as a few a**'oles - this applies to life in general, I guess....

ALL your ebay accounts...you are only supposed to have one!

You're protesting an awful lot for someone who is so innocent...

The police will not care. Tell the buyer to screw off.

In the first place the seller almost certainly will NOT go to the Police and if he/she did the Police would do nothing at all. What is there to investigate? You say you did not receive the goods (3 times) and as they did not send them on a signed for service there is no way to prove or disprove your statement. For that matter, if he/she did not ask for a proof of posting slip there is no proof that they actually posted things.

Not that it is any consolation to you but i have been on ebay for over 7 years and have never had a problem yet, i now have just over 1900 feedbacks, everyone positive.

Incidentally, you cannot close an ebay account while there is a live dispute on.
