Windows 7 won't display my picture in the thumbnail?

Postby hussein » Fri Jul 13, 2012 5:16 pm

I am using Windows 7 on my laptop and I've noticed recently that my pictures won't show in the thumbnail, only the icon. When I view the picture itself (by double clicking etc) I can see the image, just not in the thumbnail which is becoming quite a nuisance.
I've tried multiple things.

1. Changed the theme to Windows Classic
2. Right clicked Computer > Properties > Advanced System Settings > Performance Settings > Unticked Show Thumbnails instead of icons > Apply
3. The same as above but clicked Let Windows Choose Whats Best For My Computer
4. I have more than enough space on my computer (over 100GB in C Drive) so it's not to do with that...
5. Changed the programme I open the picture with

None of the above have worked for me. Can anybody suggest something that I can do or enlighten me if any of the things I have done above are wrong?

Thank you.

Which folder view are you using? For example, Details view never shows thumbnails. You can change folder views by holding down Ctrl key and scrolling mouse wheel, or by clicking the View button on toolbar. See http://www.winhelp.us/index.php/work-with-files-and-folders-in-windows.html#views for more information.
