Workers Comp/financial Aid Question?

Workers Comp/financial Aid Question?

Postby akule76 » Thu Feb 06, 2014 3:30 pm

I received a check while going to school from liberty mutual for 34000. I was on workers compensation through my works private insurance provider. The Fafsa asks if you have any non taxable income such as workers comp or disability. Do I have to claim the 34000? I don't think this is considered workers comp because its a private company issuing me a get lost check so they don't have to pay my medical expenses any more.....
