I would support taking it off of the controlled substances list altogether. Right now in the Unites States the national deficit is 2.228 trillion dollars. If marijuana was legalized and taxed the government may very well be able to put a large hole in that deficit. Think back to the alcohol prohibition... it didn't last and neither will the marijuana prohibition. The government knows that they can not control the use of marijuana that is why it is illegal. If the government legalized marijuana it would possibly cause chaos. Think if marijuana were legal what would happen to organized crime. Drug dealers would be out of money. On average in the United States a gram of marijuana goes for anywhere from $5-30 dollars based on potency. Now if the government were to legalize marijuana and sell a pack of joints, with each joint containing 0.5grams, and sell that pack for $40 dollars, that would make a gram of marijuana cost $4. If they(the government) were to do this and sell marijuana at convenient stores and gas stations all over the US they would make billions of dollars a year.If only one person from each state bought 1 pack, the government would be making $2,000. If 100 people from each state were to buy a single pack the government would make 2 million dollars.
If you elect Thomas John McDuffie to presidential office in 2016 I can gaurantee you that marijuana will be legal before 2020! VOTE FOR THOMAS J. McDUFFIE FOR PRESIDENT 2016
