Are Labour run councils a law unto themselves?

Postby amdt57 » Tue Nov 22, 2011 5:40 pm

23 October 2011
Leader of the Labour-run council, Jeremy Birch, threatened to cancel a hall's rate subsidy if it hosted a speech by BNP leader Nick Griffin.

30/10/2011
Liverpool City Council leader Joe Anderson said he will raise the matter of the BNP being allowed to use the premises with licensing officers: "I've told the people who operate Wavertree Cricket Club that I find it absolutely appalling that they have allowed this to happen on their site.

Isn't it against the law to make such threats?

It would certainly appear that way.
When I read about the Hastings speech I was thoroughly disgusted with our shower of a council and took a good look at the BNP site.
They've almost certainly got my vote as they seem to have a lot more sense than the Numpties that have been destroying our country for years have.

Labour, huh, what are they, are they the keepers of our conscience or the keepers of our desires,,, if these Labour leaders really knew what many of their voters thought they'd have kittens, fuking kittens.

Some of the most vile and racist people I have ever known are staunch Labour voters, unbelievable.

The BNP is a lawful political party.

Democracy is nothing if it does not provide a platform for those with whom you disagree. Otherwise it's just a cosy chat.

Of course, there is something of an irony in supporting the rights of the BNP, who'd deny those rights to others on the basis of skin colour.
But hey - that's the democracy!

This from BNP! I nearly peed my pants laughing!

Consider the behaviour of BNP councillors and get your own house in order first! Members not turning up at meetings, not contributing when they do show up, not taking any responsibility, not even representing their constituents. You're hardly a model of how local government ought to run yourselves, are you?

Most people think the BNP can sod off, so nobody cares if wonky-eyed Nick Griffin can't get a speech in.

These very same people allow, and even finance Muslims to threaten the British people in their own streets, and to insult the soldiers that serve this country. What are local councils but foul dens of thieves and embezzlers. IE a certain council Bulldozed B*nfleet downs, a one hundred year nesting site for finches, at a cost of three million, In the middle of the nesting season, destroying colonies of finches. and then after consulting wild life experts, put it all back to exactly how it was. Cost to the Birds, they still haven't re established. Cost to the council tax payers, 12 million over all. Guess who owned the company that did it all.....YES you guessed it. The Brother of a bloody councillor who had moved hes firm outside the boundaries. They pulled the same trick years later with the company that double glazed the council houses. And they have the bloody nerve to accuse the British national party of acting out side the public interest. Perhaps they are afraid that their little gravy trains will be exposed and destroyed.

I think James has a few fake profiles to get so many thumbs up for such a rubbish answer….

The threat is absolutely a criminal offence

Theft Act 1968 – “A person is guilty of blackmail if, with a view to gain for himself or another or with intent to cause loss to another, he makes any unwarranted demand with menaces”

He wanted the club to make a loss because they had the bottle to put NG up….

The right to debate only applies to people who fall in line with the mainstream…

The right to free speech only applies to people who fall in line with the wishes of the mainstream….

If they say “I don’t agree with them” or “I don’t like them” its ok for them to treat us unfairly and discriminate against us…

Yet all they want to do is point out how we’d discriminate against others or treat others unfairly - B@LLUX

As for MR S… If the shoe was on the other foot he’d say “if they believe there right to free speech could be infringed then do you blame them for perhaps misleading to ensure there right to say it”

No, they have to be elected by the local electorate at regular intervals.

Elections - they seem to be BNP's downfall, don't they Paul.

Incidentally, Paul, a little birdie in Liverpool tells me that Wavertree Cricket Club were duped into accepting this booking, and had no idea that their premises had been booked by the BNP. Allegedly, the booking was done under the name of a different, fictitious organisation. Any comment?
