What could this mean? Labour?

Postby gall » Wed May 16, 2012 4:02 pm

Hello,

My sister in law is 38+5 and has just texted me to say she's got LOTS of pressure down below and is having pains on and off. irregulary but getting slightly closer..

I'm not really sure what this could mean as I didn't have anything like this in my pregnancy. My waters going were my first sign of anything.

Do you think this could be the start of labour or just pressure from getting close to the end combined with BH?

Thanks!

She should be timing her contractions..

If they are regular then its labor if not its usually Braxton Hicks...however, I might be wrong best to consult a medical professional.

Has the baby dropped yet? If not the pressure could mean the baby is dropping into the birth canal. Congrats to her!

Regular pains could mean labour has started , get her to time them and also the severity. She should also phone her doctor or midwife for advice because they are the people who know her and have looked after your sister in law throughout her pregnancy.
