Bankruptcy Filing History

Postby Adaiah » Mon Feb 03, 2014 1:51 am

I understand that my debtor has attempted to file bankruptcy before, but it was denied.
How can I find out the number of times they attempted to file and dates of those attempted filings?

Bankruptcy petitions are public records filed in Federal courts. If you have the person's name and social security number and a PACER (Public Access to Court Electronic Records) account you can look up any bankruptcy filings by that individual.

What would be a typical reason for a bankruptcy filing to be dismissed?

They weren't denied in all probability. Just dismissed.
