Being sued for slander on Facebook?

At my home town a girl went missing and I'm her brother sons godmother. I have him very well and trust him. Well the girl ran away. They found her today and the girl was at a friends house and said she didn't want to go home bc her mom beat her. Her brother said he was beat his other sister said this to over Facebook to the public. And I said aomethig about it on Facebook next thing I know the girls mom is threating to sue me for slander. Advise on why to do? It's not slander if it's true? Also I'm not the only one on Facebook saying these things. Alot of ppl have said what I did.

90% of status updates posted on Facebook are slanderous....isn't that the point of social networking, to insult people and cause drama behind the anonymity of the internet? She can't do a thing, don't worry about it lol.
