Possible Facebook slander lawsuit ?

I had friends over one night and after drinking i told one of them about a problem i had with a dealership after it was resolved. they got mad at me for doing nothing about it so after a few drinks someone went on my computer And bashed them on their Facebook page calling them a dump and crooks by name. now they are calling me threatening to call a lawyer i went on their page and posted it wasnt me and they were helpful. which they were but as corny as this sounds it really is the truth. can they really follow threw with a lawsuit over a facebook post ?
