Hate to say it, but im a bicyclist, and we just hate drivers like this. She stopped for you because you are a car and she is a person......duh. Car usually wins in that situation. What if you are not payin attention as in this case you werent. you looked both ways, but were not paying attention one bit to people walking. If you were really paying attention, you would have known that the person was there 10 sec before you got to the intersection. Watch for that next time, and even in that positon, look in your passenger side rear view before turning. there may be a bicyclist coming on your flank.
As for the ticket....those cameras are only made to take a photo of moving vehicles in an all-red situation. It shoots video, but the video is only brought up if you get a ticket in the mail. dont sweat it unless you see a flash. It is not like there is a person at a desk monitoring all activities at all the camera lights. That would take half the department to do.
P.S.----Just for this case....I generally go with traffic all the time so that those "right turners" will see me. But you should always look to your right all the time anyways, because most of drivers do not look right for those pedestrians, and most bikers who are not edcuated on the rules of the road ride against traffic, so they can "see the oncoming cars". Those people get hit by the guy pulling out of the driveways.
