Can you kick your daughter out if She is 16 about to be 17?

Postby kendon19 » Thu Jun 28, 2012 7:02 am

Ive had enough of my daughter. She's a drug addict, talks back to everyone in the family, drinks, been caught shoplifting 3 times within 3 months, constantly gets in trouble with the law, sneaks out (sometimes in the middle of the night) to see her boyfriend/friends, and just overall places her friends above her family; she has no respect for us whatsoever. Everytime we try to talk to her she laughs as if it were some joke and basically tells us to f**ck off, and locks herself in her room to call her friends, and constantly mentions how stupid we are for not letting her do what she wants to, so there is no use trying to talk to her if every word we say is a joke. We've tried to contact rehabilitation programs but so far they have told us if the child is over 13 then we cannot send her there without her consent. She has refused to go to any. I honestly don't see what else there is to do as we have tried EVERYTHING. it just irritates me how she is still out there free doing whatever she wants despite having been in trouble with the law so many times. I do remind of her of the "my house my rules" thing but she threatens to leave. I'm okay with that but I'm afraid I'd get into trouble for kicking her out as she is not an adult yet. I hate to say this, but I honestly can't deal with her anymore and just want her out of here.

That would make you a bad parent. She's being a teenager. I did the exact same things as her from the ages of 13-16. My parents stood by my side, let me have my freedom, I eventually came to be able to tell them everything. It takes time, but eventually you realise family is everything. Its a long process but its worth it, dont lose your daughter over this. She'll change eventually, she's just being a teenager.

Yeah you can, but it would make you an arseh*le. You need to be calm with her, supportive and try to talk to her in a calm way. If she starts shouting, don't shout back. It just p*sses the youngster off - I should know, seeing as it does me.
