Hard to say.
Yeah, you are way off. I just finished reading "In the Garden of the Beasts" and had the curious thought: why aren't more books written about the Gulag, or the Stasi, and the millions killed in Communist Russia. You know why? Too many leftist types like you and the Hollywood crowd who want to think that the Soviet Union was some sort of bliss. Yeah, Nazi Germany was an evil nightmare of a state. Oh, and I bet you think the Soviet Union was some sort of party huh?

As for the usefull idiot who posted about the successes of Communist China, well, they are taking the best parts of American capitalism (ie corporate greed and squashing the middleclass) and wrecklessly combining it with 1984-style hardline communism. At least 75% of Communist China lives below the poverty line, and many work in what would be considered concentration camp employment centers, Mao would be proud. We get cheap junk and the party gets to keep power. So what if millions are executed for dissent.
I almost wish that you would go to Hong Kong and spout this nonsense, see what they would say.

Are you serious? The USSR was completely a disarmed, victim population and when the economic collapse hit, criminals ran around robbing shops like crazy and ONLY the shop owners who broke the law and owned guns kept their goods. I don't think giving the government a complete power monopoly is a good idea.

I'm assuming that, since you use the past tense "was", the Soviet Union is no longer what you claim? Oh, I didn't click on the link due to the possibility of it being a malicious website. And, all that crap is too long. Be succinct. Look it up if you're having trouble.

Try again.

If you are trying to say the ussr was as successful as the us you are absolutly wrong because the soviet union doesnt exist anymore . If it was such a great place then why is russia considered a capatalist nation now?

Having all the commodities of life is not a good trade for freedom of mind.
There was no religious freedom in the Soviet Union. As much as I think religions are ridiculous, people should be free to believe whatever the heck they want without fear of death.

There was censorship of the press, to prevent "undermining the revolution"

You can't tell me a country with only one political party was a free country.

everything was done for the political party. ONLY the political partty was free to create trade unions or organize labor. where the heck is the freedom there??

NO freedom of political dissent. At least in the U.S. you don't have to fear death for being openly communist, or adhering to political views that are not popular. This was not true in the soviet Union.

O what's this? forced labor camps in the Soviet Union?

Some of your criticism of the U.S. and other capitalist powers are right on point, but I don't like when people tell half-truths just to defend their side. Don't hide the TRUTH.

Right...sure it was "great".

Oh, and like the USSR wasn't imperialist. Show me where it actually says people made a half decent income and didn't work like slaves to their jobs. Show me a non-biased source that says the health care was good. All you can do is spout communist crap...moron.

I also laughed pretty damn hard at your fake execution stats.
And then I laughed harder at "Only one million".

Also, just because a place is/was an industrial powerhouse, doesn't mean it's a good place to live. Do you think the average Chinese person makes a half decent living?
