I am a professional mental health working mostly as contract for correctional system. After one contract is over, I usually apply for another contract. So many times they sent me to different facility. Never had any problem regarding credentialing, until just recently. Someone told me, that the correctional system would not hire me as contract because I did some inappropriate thing which was giving out drawing of "smiley faces" to patient (in this case inmates).
I am dumbfounded. As professional, who's been in the system for more than 10 years, I am well aware not to do such a thing.
Even if I am not allowed to work within correctional system anymore, I should not let this stand.
The problem is, every person I called within credentialing process, told me they're not at liberty to tell me anything.
I want to avoid getting a law suit, which I assume would take more than 2 years to resolve and money spent on lawyers, etc.
I wish I could find out who said such a ridiculous thing about me.
I am pretty sure, someone just might make a mistake.
Which cost me more than 2 months now of not being able to work in correctional system.
I appreciate any input from anyone.
I know it seems like law suit is unavoidable at this time. But again, I am dumbfounded right now. In a state of shock of such a problem, which never occured to me could happen in such a ridiculous way as it is.
Thanks for reading.
