How can I file a class action lawsuit against HP?

Postby rolfe16 » Wed Apr 06, 2011 7:10 pm

My laptop, along with other laptops from HP, is a "defective" product in which they will do nothing about. The quality of the heatsink is terrible; my computer would get to $200 degrees at points. Obviously with this being called a "laptop", you should be able to set it on your lap while you work. The case manager I spoke with told me I was improperly using my laptop because I should set it on a different surface when I use it. Also, since the quality of the heatsink is horrible on HP laptops, it fried my motherboard. They will also do nothing about it, because the manager said they do not get a lot of reports of this happening. Obviously then if they don't get complaints of this happening, my laptop is defective and should be sent back and repaired, free of charge. If anyone could tell me how to get into a class action lawsuit against HP, that would be great.

Thank you,
-Mike :)

How can I file a class action lawsuit against HP?

A class-action suit combines several lawsuits into one. This is usually done when dozens, if not hundreds or thousands, or similar lawsuits were filed and it would be impossible for the courts to individually rule on each case.

How do you know it got to 200 degrees?

You have a better shot of returning it to the store and explaining that this laptop is apparently defective.

If they won't work with you, keep making calls to HP and ask to speak to a manager above the front line call takers. Write down every name of every person you talk to. Keep marching up the ladder until you get someone who can help you. And remember, you catch more flies with honey than vinegar. What that means is that you'll get much better results if you are nice and respectful rather than rude and disrespectful. The squeaky wheel doesn't always get the grease.

You need to find others with a similar issue, a team of attorneys, and deep pockets. Good luck.

You should get your money back, that is a rule of transaction. They should have at least tested your accusation. Write formal letters to Hp and copy them, record yourself sending the letter in person if you have to and then tell them you will be seeking legal advice.

Then contact an attorney who will go through the legal procedure to sue them for their misconduct. They have already broken trade laws, and maybe even electronic standards. They are very liable to prosecution on your part. Not only now that they do not want to help you it is also thievery, a very high crime for such a corporate business
