How do I get a court order to trace an IP address and find my stolen tv?

My Samsung Smart Tv was stolen from me, I still had my Netflix account open under my name on my smart tv when i was robbed. Netflix told me someone was watching movies on my account from a samsung smart tv and the ISP provider was Embarq aka Centurylink.
Netflix said they don't have any other info or record of ip addresses?

I was told I need a court order and police need a warrant to trace IP address information. How do i get a court order because I really want to find out who has my property and the fact they used my netflix account its all illegal!

Police gave us a hard time and closed our case because we lost our serial number.
But the fact someone used our netflix account from the tv should not be ignored am i right?
