If someone steps onto your property do you have the right to shoot them?

No.

Some States have what is called a "Castle Doctrine" which, in it's most extreme form, allows you to assume that anyone who forcibly enters your home without your permission poses a danger to your life, and can be met by deadly force.

Even in the strictest "Castle Doctrine" States though, such as Florida and Texas, the entry has to be forcible, which means "into" your home, not just onto your property.

At the other extreme, States like Massachusetts have a "duty to retreat" where even if an armed intruder breaks into your home you have a legal duty to try to escape before you can defend yourself.

No, you do not have the right to shoot them. You may call the police, but if you shoot someone if they do not die, they may try you for attempted murder. If you lose that, then you will be in jail.

Depends in the state. Pa has castle laws that allow it within reason. Generally you can't just blast someone just because they are on the sidewalk. You need to be justified in your actions or have an awesome lawyer.

You do if you have proof or witnesses that your life was in jeopardy. You also have to shoot them in the front. If you shoot them in the back they could be considered fleeing the scene which is not a direct threat to your life.

When you say steps onto your property it does leave a lot of room for error. I mean if someone was to step on my front yard i really couldn't give a damn, but if they were there to steal something or force their way into my house, **** yea i would shoot them even if it does result in jail time. Protect what is yours, because the cops wont be doing anything about it.

If someone is threatening the life of you or your family, you have the right to protect them. Thank Goodness we have the right to carry a gun!

no if someone goes in your house and poses a danger then you can blow their face off but not on your yard because someone would go crazy shooting people on Halloween for trick-or-treating.
