Is it illegal to sell keyblades?

Postby chatima » Mon Dec 19, 2011 8:28 am

I'm a local artist who designs keyblades and custom made keyblades, along with various type of cosplay items and props. I was wondering if it was illegal for me to sell my creations to people and online. For reason such as, the designs or names are copyrighted or trademarked. I don't want to cause any trouble, just trying to start up a business. If anyone could give me any information, that'd be stellar! Thanks!

"For reason such as, the designs or names are copyrighted or trademarked."
if you are "a local artist who designs keyblades and custom made keyblades" and doesn't just copy the designs of others, then you should be in the clear. Names can't be copyright protected, but they can be registered as a trademark for a business. Designs can be trademarked and patented (design patents)
