Is it too late to sue for malpractice?

Postby delton » Thu Jul 26, 2012 5:46 am

Around a year ago I went to the dentist to have a cavity filled and the dentist herself wasn't paying any attention to what she was doing and talking to her assistant about her party that weekend and she didn't warn me that she was about to stick a needle in my mouth to numb me and she stuck me and I jumped since I didn't know she was doing it. And after I left I was in such bad pain I was crying for hours and the area she stuck was numb for a couple months. After the numbness went away I noticed I had pain in that area and in the same area on the top and opposite side on the top. It is also very cold sensitive. I went to the dentist 3 months ago and they said that I need to have teeth pulled because I'm too crowded but they couldn't do anything because I was 18 weeks pregnant. So I went back today because the pain has become worse. I was told that I need to have the teeth pulled and checked to see if its a nerve problem too. And I know my insurance wont pay for it and I don't want to be stuck with this pain. So I was wondering if I could open up a case or if it was too late. I don't want to sue for all her money or anything but I think she should have to pay for my procedures. Is there any way I can do this?

Check your state's law on the statute of limitations. It might be 1 year. It might be 2 years.

Two years from the day you discover the problem.
