Is there a law that prevents people from having a Facebook page for a brand?

Postby zackary42 » Fri Mar 09, 2012 1:31 am

I have an online store and I sell one brand, and I have a facebook page for that brand in Chile. Nowhere it says that I'm the only one selling it or that I own the brand it just shows the pictures of the products and says my E-mail.

I have this guy from Spain telling me that he is going to start litigation if I dont delete it.

I would like to know if there is a law that preventes me from having this page, and if he is right or not.

Without knowing the particulars of your case, and the relevant laws in Chile and Spain, AND the relevant treaty/treaties both countries are members of (and frankly, whether the United States is also a signatory to same, since FB is a US-based entity), it's literally impossible to answer this question.

I suggest you consult with an attorney familiar with the above issues.
