Is this false imprisonment?

Postby galvin » Fri Mar 02, 2012 9:24 am

I'm 19 years old and i still live with my mom and her "boyfriend" my friends texted me an hour ago and ask me if i wanted to chill with them and i said yes so they came to pick me up and i asked my mom can she open the door (they have deadbolt locks on the doors and i do not have a key) and she said no and go back to "your room". I know i still live in their house but is that against the law to restrict someone from leaving if they are legal?

I live in North Carolina btw

False question

You are trying to make us believe that you are locked in your own home at 19 years of age and you do not have a key to get out?

Nobody with any sense is going to believe this and I am guessing that is why your questions are private because you have asked other fake questions before and don't want anybody to know about them.

Have to do better than this one, at least TRY to make them half way believable because this one sucked

Yes it is false imprisonment, but you have to respect your parents. does not mean there right or you have to agree with them but while your under there roof its there rules.

Options
#1 get your parents arrested, dont do it dumb and you'll just cause mayhem and that would be disrespect to them, there not criminals they just want the best for you, hey im 38 and i dont agree with my parents half the time luckily i dont live at home which brings us to more options

#2 sue them, dont do it dumb, why because there your parents and it would be worse than option 1

#3 text your friends back "sorry busy atm" CLEVER :D

then when your ready talk to your parents, find out why and as a young adult find a compromise living in harmony is far better than war

eventually you will want and need your own space, your only 19 and living at home sucks, but it will give you a chance to put something proper into place and not end up in some flea infested rental :D

You are of age where you make your own decisions as to what you want to do and where yu want to go. You can leave the house anytime you want and go where you want---BUT The house belongs to your mother ,( I am assuming either she owns the house or the house is rented under her name) , and therefore she can keep you out of the house legally.
The question here is why don't you have a key--this seems strange.
