Hello,
I live in Michigan and my landlord is being incredibly unfair and trying to "nickel and dime" me for everything. I am a student and I know he is doing this just to make a profit off of lawfully uneducated college students. He is continuously lying to us and changing stories. My current problem is that he is trying to charge us 400 dollars for a carpet that is already 4 -5 years old that he admits to previously damaging. My vacuum cleaner pulled a line (5 feet long, one inch wide)of thread out of the carpet, and we were wondering if we are permitted to pay a pro-rated amount due to the carpet previously being damaged and it being near it's "shelf life end".
