My in-laws were being extremely rude and condescending to my husband and my family so I went off on them?

I am pregnant and I have never been rude to them but this time I really made up for the past 8 years of just being quite to their remarks! I yelled at them and when they tried to interrupt me I just kept talking louder and told them what awful parents they were to treat their son like that and it eventually escalated. My husband was going to be the one to talk to them but they called ME back not him and he wasn't around at the time so I took over which I know is rude but what do I do now? I feel embarrassed at my behavior. I mean I really insulted them but it was all true and they knew it and apologized but I feel like I was too harsh because I was so direct and insulting. :( what do I do know?

You just have to let it blow over. I know this is family so you feel like you should do something to soothe any raw emotions but really, what you didn't wasn't exactly out-of-line. You're not teenagers anymore and no adult (parent or not) has the right to treat their child or their child's spouse with disrespect, rudeness or discourteousness just because they're the parents.

It hurts to see someone you love be treated poorly by those who are also supposed to love them and it isn't easy to county to bite your tongue year after year knowing their hurt but unable to help. I'm not surprised you snapped quite frankly.

Apologize, if you must, but don't kowtow or grovel. Let them know that you felt your *TONE* was inappropriate but not your *WORDS*.

You might have gone over board but youre pregnant! you have feeling and hormones and emotions! If they were wrong, you told them. If they were wondering why, you told them. They obviously don't hate you if they apologized! Just keep cool next time, Im sure this will actually make your relationships stronger now that you are all comforatble enough to speak your true feelings! You didn't do anything wrong Im sure they'll understand

Just give them a sincerely apology, and try to make them closer as parents and son.... They'll appreciated!!!!

I do not think there is any way out except for apologizing and you should not think this before doing so, after all they are your elders.
