My employer calculates mileage reimbursement from our main office and not from home, however they now have instituted that employees will not be reimbursed for miles driven within a 40 mile radius from the office.  I recently drove 291 miles both ways for a business trip and they have deducted 80 miles stating that I will only be reimbursed for those miles outside of the 40 mile radius.  Now, they do reimburse at the IRS ...

This year we would like to go green and mandate direct deposit and go paperless.  We are located in Oklahoma, Missouri and Texas.  We found a paycard provider that has no fees for the employee if used correctly.  My question is can we mandate direct deposit and offer this paycard as a solution to those who do not want a bank account?

Are there required time intervals between shifts for an hourly employee? Can an employee be required to report for an another shift after have worked one shift then report for the next shift in less than 8 hours?

ANSWER: I need to know what state you work in as well as if you are an hourly-paid employee in order to provide an appropriate answer to your question.

Shirley, I read your response to a previous question about mailing paychecks to employees who elect not to participate in direct deposit.  Your response was that an employer could not discriminate against those employees who are not on direct deposit.  Do you know where I might read the Department Of Labor rule on mailing of paychecks?  Thanks and R/John

In the city and state of New York, is it law that salaried employees must have PTO?  If so, is there a distinction between sick days and vacation days?

Mr Souto, I live in Texas.
