Reckless driving HELP?

Postby gilleabart » Sat Apr 14, 2012 10:18 am

I just got a ticket for driving 76 mph in a 55 zone. I assumed I was charged with reckless driving, however, my ticket doesnt say that. It says "I willingly operated a motor vehicle on a street or highway at a speed of 76 in a 55 zone (g.s. 20-141(JI))" is this just a speeding ticket or are reckless driving charges assumed? Please help ASAP. Thank you

Reckless driving HELP?

Postby toryn34 » Sat Apr 14, 2012 10:23 am

Yeah, I figured it was NC.

Class 2 Misdemeanor - GS: 20-141(j1) in North Carolina

21 over the limit, this goes beyond just a normal speeding ticket.

Possible: .For Class 2 misdemeanors, confinement in jail for up to six months and a fine of up to $1,000, either or both.

You will probably lose your license for a time. Run your record if it's clean and show the judge.
