Virus did something to my portable hard drive?

Postby varik » Wed Nov 23, 2011 3:11 pm

Ok I got an email from my mother in law so I opened trusting it as it came from her. Well I guess her account got hacked and I opened the link that was in there and got a real bad virus I am currently rcovering my compter as I type this. But here is the main problem. Everything I had I wanted to keep was on my portable hard drives. But now when I open them it says it is empty but when I got to properties it looks like there is data still there. On the genral tab it show 161gigs used and 136 gigs open. is there any way to recover this. I have 2 portable hard drives and they are doing the same. one is a simpletech and one is a Maxtor. HELP

use asoftech data recovery ( http://www.asoftech.com/adr/ ) to scan your usb and then recover your files.

This software scans all storage space on usb and the join pieces together to recover files. So even virus affected your file table, and put virus to boot sector, asoftech can still be used to recover your files.

The virus changed attributes to hide your data. Run unhide and your data will be visible again... http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/grinler/unhide.exe
