What is the step by step process to get my daughter her permit?

I want her to get her permit as soon and as cheap as possible. I would like her to take an online course to learn the rules/laws etc. but I want to teach her the actual driving behind the wheel so she could go get her driving test right away then her permit. I heard that I have to fill out a parent form first in order to teach her, but I'm not sure (laws change often). So if you have any advice or information, please let me know. Thanks in advance.

She cannot take an online course for drivers ed. First she must:

1. be at least 15 and be enrolled in a drivers ed course (usually around $200 at school and $400 at private places)

2. Go to the DMV and get her permit.

3. In my state she must have it for at least 9 months (prior to turning 16) to get her license. She must also have 50 hours of behind the wheel time with a parent.

4. Get license after 9 months with permit at DMV. If taken at school, they waive the driving test. if taken at a private place, you must take the driving test.

go to your local dmv website and look at the rules etc... and try finding a field and ask the owner if you can teach her the basics there
