When did the law change that Chapter 7 bankruptcy must stay on your credit for 10 years, instead of 7-10?

Chapter 13 bankruptcy cases which are satisfied may drop off after 7 years, but Chapter 7s stay on for 10 years. Your bankruptcy may drop off your credit report after 10 years, but is still part of court records for 20 years.
