Chapter 13 bankruptcy cases which are satisfied may drop off after 7 years, but Chapter 7s stay on for 10 years. Your bankruptcy may drop off your credit report after 10 years, but is still part of court records for 20 years.

as far as I know, chapter 7 has always remained for 10 years. Chapter 13 was 7 years. I am not sure if that is still the case for chapter 13 after the laws that passed five or six years ago.
