WHY ARE WE NOT ABLE TO PULL OVER THE POLICE?

Postby roche » Thu Mar 31, 2011 6:52 am

You see it all the time police driving recklessly in traffic and speeding around as well as turning on lights just to get past traffic and through traffic lights. They are not allowed by law to do any of this but yet you can't give them a ticket. Do you think they should put a device in police cars to let them track the car as well as record speed and when they turn on emergency lights.

You actually can if they are willing to pull over. You can pull over anyone and make a citizens arrest if the person is willing to comply. The problem is, if you do so you are risking getting the crap kicked out of you. Getting beat up happens more often to cops then they will admit and they have guns on their hips. So I wouldn't recommend you trying to engage a citizens arrest...even though you technicaly have the ability.

as has been advised nearly all policemen abuse their position. imagine the mafia with the backing of the government and that is what you are trying to fight. keep your head down don't speed in your car and let the over zealous bastards pick on someone else!! British coppers only pick on easy targets

You have no idea why an officer is turning their lights on. There are plenty of situations where I need to get somewhere quickly and quietly. I get paid the same if I sit at a light, or turn my lights on. If I do turn them on, I have a reason.

If you have a problem with the way the police drive, complain to the department or your local government. If you can identify the car number, the officer may get in trouble.

Or you could keep whining on the Internet. Your call.

I say let the police drive recklessly. And if one of them hits me, I'll be the first one to ask for a copy of the dash cam recording in court.

You have no idea what they are doing. Speculation can make a fool of you if you're not careful.
