Why do some people believe that although laws don't stop murderers from committing murders...laws will.....?

Why do some people believe that although laws don't stop murderers from committing murders... laws will somehow be able to stop these same murderers from obtaining guns ?

Right now it is easier to buy an illegal gun in most cities than it is to buy illegal fireworks ......so why do some people think that more legislation will stop people from getting guns when no law can stop a criminal from getting a gun any more than any law can stop a criminal from committing a murder ?

Don't people realize that more gun laws will only make it harder for law abiding licensed gun owners to buy another gun and will do nothing to stop a criminal from buying as many illegal guns as he wants to ?

If certain guns, such as ones which excel at killing more people faster, are illegal, then they can be seized and the possessor detained in the days, months, or years before a murder might happen.

Whereas murder is not actually a crime until it is attempted or completed.

Think of the difference between guns and, say, peanut butter or windshield cleaning fluid.

It is much harder to kill ten people in five minutes with ten pounds of peanut butter or windshield cleaning fluid, so let's make it harder to buy guns and ammo than it is to buy peanut butter or windshield cleaning fluid.

Correction
as many illegal guns as they can afford to
When the supply of a product is radically reduced and the demand remains stable then the price for that product radically increases also
Somewhere in that process the two -bit criminal that most of the gun crazies are afraid of has to get priced out of the market.

How can you prove those 'don't people know' statements that you made in your details? Just because you say more gun laws this or more guns laws that,doesn't prove a thing. This is more like a rant using NRA talking points than a legitimate argument.

Law does stop murderers, just not all of them.
I meet someone everyday i would shoot in the face, but its not worth me spending my life behind bars.
I want to make the world a better place and all just not that bad.
