Why does this 5 year old get naked?

Okay this is really awkward but my brother in law is 5years old and last week his mom caught him all alone in his room naked. His excuse was that he was gonna go to sleep. But he never has slept naked he shared a room with his sister. And today well as I type this I am spending the night and I'm sleeping in my brother in laws room with him,and his sister. I was sleeping well falling asleep and I heard noises so I peeked out my blankets to see what was going on and I catch him In his underwear and what seems to be a bra. Then I ignored it because it was really awkward then I look again and he's completely butt naked. I know he's just a kid and I don't mean to put his family down but he plays and watches alot of movies and games he shouldn't at his age. He also caught his father sleeping naked from what I hear.
My boyfriend his brother is worried it might me a psychological issue and I am very concerned about his education. And the fact that he knows more about video games than colors and letters. He is 5 years old. My cousin of 3 years knows how to could to 20 in Spanish and English my brother in law not so much. Again I am concerned about him. Is this a psychological issue or is it him just being a kid? Any kind of help would be useful. Thank you for reading all this! :)

Dude, chill out. He's ONLY 5 years old! When I was reading this, I thought the "5" was a typo, because it makes more sense if you were talking about an adult. Then you said, "kid," so then I realized that it was not a typo. Then I thought you were just trolling. Were you aware of your sexual identity when you were 5? Did you know what made girls and guys different when you were 5? He's just copying what he sees; he has no clue what he is doing, yet.

Dude, he's FREAKING FIVE! He should be playing video games, watching cartoons, enjoying the fresh air, laughing, interacting, and learning by playing. You have such high expectations for such a small kid. I feel so bad for that little boy.

Kids are copycats. Kids tend to "role-play" on what they see in movies or people's actions/behavior.

Kids imitate what they see and they just flat out LOVE to be naked.
If this little boy has seen his dad sleep naked and has seen his mom get dressed of course he's going to be curious about sleeping naked and about wearing a bra!

At the age of 5 he should be starting kindergarten soon, he will catch up on what he needs to know at that time, but if you are worried about it why don't you work with him on his letters and numbers?
As far as not being about to count to 20 in multiple languages, I wouldn't be too worried about that. At the age of 3 a child isn't really "counting" they are just mimicking words, they have no idea what they are actually saying or what it means.
