Acquired a masters degree and have now been utilized at a lawyer for 6 years. I was 19years old when my exboyfriend during the time found may well perform location to try to beat me but he got the beating, nevertheless I was arrested since while he was on leading of me I bit him(literally) and since of the bite the police officer arrested me even although I was the one who known as 911 oh not to say the event occurred in a offered place have been only workers could have access and he certainly was not applied there however I was. Oh, we weren't even together half a year prior to the episode. I was caught with a prison but circumstance was lowered to an offense as even though I was disturbing the peace. I paid a court fantastic and it was over. With this certain in my history could I enter into a law college? And if will I have the potential to practice law and receive a license in their state of California?

I do not imply this to be snarky(seriously, I never, which is somewhat uncommon for me), but is not this the kind of issue someone practicing law ought to be in a position to tell you? Like, as a law student, working at a law firm for 6 years, should not you be capable to locate the relevent laws that pertain to such a matter?

Yes, you can get a law degree with a criminal record, individuals do it in prison all the time! Also, when you go sit for the bar exam, they are going to ask you that question once more, have you been convicted of a felony, so you will have to disclose it once again. Most applications ask, "Have you ever been convicted of a felony," not have you ever committed a crime. So your charge was dropped to a misdemeanor, and is not a felony? Or is it? I'm with Mr. Itty though, if you work in a law office, why in the globe, do not you find the answer there, or just get in touch with the school you want to apply to, and ask them? 53 months ago

Misdemeanors are generally ignored. Tho I would have tried to have the boyfriend prosecuted, starting with trespassing, but water under the bridge can't be re-bucketed. Almost any law-enforcement job would care about felonies only. Misdemeanors are like traffic tickets. danielpauldavis 53 months ago Please sign in to give a compliment. I only have an arrest and no conviction. And I have read the section on the CA Bar moral character I just need absolute confirmation that i won't be in couple hundred thousand dollars in debt after law school and not be able to practice and pay the school debt.
