Workers comp in Georgia for 2 drivers?

I have a trucking company with only 2 drivers. I don't have workers compensation. And I hired a driver that fall on the ice after parking his own car. After the fall, he still went to work the first day and drove the truck. within 4 days of his hire, he caused a damage of 7,000 (hiting the trailer roof and a fence poll. Thus I had to pay 1800 out of packet and sent him a letter to make arrangement to pay 80% of that because the accident was caused by his negigence. The seond accident tota 5600 which the insurance is still investigating. I have now been givin notice of cancellation.

3 weeks have passed and the driver called and requested to see my company doctors because his body is still hurting him as he claimed and I told him that i dont have none. 10 days after, I got a letter from a lawyer and the state for hearing date.

What are my options? Since I only have two drivers and this is corporation. How do I respond to the lawyer and the State hearing

Work comp laws vary by state so I don't know if you are required to carry the insurance or not; but that is a moot point with this case now.
You need to get your own attorney; there are way to many variables to get a good answer here.
Start with your insurance agent for any insurance that you do have now. He/she can get you started with some more specific advise how to handle your situation and can likely recommend an attorney with insurance knowledge.
