Would This Come Under Medical negligence or Personal Injury?

Postby muireach » Thu Mar 15, 2012 10:01 am

My nan was given meds and she got these boil type lumps on her arm and wasnt told this was a side effect on the meds or on the medical leaflet and the doc took pics of it. SHe wasnt able to use her arm for months and it hurt and would this be medical or personal injury and can she ask the doc for her oics with the med notes?

Also my nan has had bad eye infections and swelling caused by these tablets and the leaflet only said dry eyes as a side eefct but she was told she has her glands blocked and its for life by the doc. Her doc notes shes asked for the doc only wrote blepharitis and not what he said which is gland disease, shes trying to get this corrected as they have either given her the wrong diagnosis or witholding info they gave previously. Can she claim for this also?

Was this a medical experiment she signed up for? Or was this one of the listed side effects for the medication she was given. This is all information that is essential to us giving you an accurate answer, if you could add more details with this information I would be more than happy to help you with your question.

From my personal experience it is very difficult to get a lawyer to take a medical malpractice or medical personal injury suit. I tried for over a year when surgeon placed a port-a-cath on the wrong side, punctured my lung, sent me home and I nearly died before EMT got me back to the hospital. I called 4 attorneys and all turned me down because they did not feel they could make more than it would cost to file the suite. You MAY be able to go after the pharmaceutical company. I am not sure. You would have to prove the problems came from the med.

I suggest if you have not already done so , Get Nan to a new doctor.
