Am i overreacting or is my cousin in law attracted/flirting with me?

Postby dickens93 » Tue May 22, 2012 12:20 am

so my cousin got married a couple months ago, with me being one of the groomsmen and i have a feeling his wife(my cousin in law) may be attracted to me. me and her dont really know each other and the first time we saw/met each otehr was the last week before her wedding due to her job and her traveling.

anyway, we're getting to know each other now since i figured it's the right thing to do since she is family...but, im getting this feeling that she may be attracted to me. whenever we hang out together, she's always glancing at me, smiling at me. and at times, when my cousin isn't around, she'll go and touch my arm while we talk. also, when there are other people she can talk to, for some reason, she always approaches me first. and yesterday at a party, me and her were talking while my cousin was in the restroom. while we were talking, her heels started bothering her. now, she could've easily just sat down to readjust them, or lean against the wall to balance herself...but instead, she goes and grabs my arm.

lol...anyway, i may just be overrreacting about all of this but, im just curious to see what you think? maybe she's just touchy? lol

There's no way to know right now. Just ignore it, but whatever you do don't reciprocate.

You are overreacting. She is touchy, and likes you in a "family" way. She is kinda of your COUSIN now. And this would be incest.
She is being nice and is taking a liking to you. I can't believe that through these minute things you would think that. Sorry.

YOu could be overeacting....pay attention to how she interacts with other family members. I know I'm very touchy with men i know...it's just something that makes me feel comfortable in a social setting...now if she is only touching you, try to find ways to avoid her..i know that may sound mean but you don't want to ruin the relationship with your cousin...and if it gets to out of hand....i would mention it to him...if he's someone you can trust not to make a big deal of it. either way, if she's looking at other men already being so new in a marriage, i don't see it working out.

Some people have that touching feeling and some people also have that natural flirt, like my mother and I. Some people think that flirting is just another way of being nice, she may think shes being nice, but you think she flirting. when anything else weird happens is when you will know the real answer to your question.

There are women who feel comfortable with and around people.
She probably feels comfortable and can trust in not taking advantage of her.
I would not make anything out of it.
Just be glad and happy that that she does.

kandygirl, if there's no blood relation, then it isn't incest. get your facts straight.

and you're probably just overreacting.
