Simple UK answer.."NO"
UNLESS like you have touched on you are seen to be a danger to yourself and or others around you.
But with how the UK police are nowadays and the ever increasing powers they have turning the country into a police state you should probably expect some hassle.

Best advice if your going to indulge would be to tell you to stay indoors!!
Or even better, "Just Say No! ;-p

Depends on the situation, If your cought driving while on any drug(even prescribed drugs) it is a D.U.I. If your just out with friends and you get cought under the influence lets just say Marijuana, they really wont do much beside try to figure out where you got the drugs so they can get a bust.

technically before you have put them in your system you were holding them at one point. and how will the law know, sweetface? do you go around taking breathalizer and blood samples randomly? no one knows except who has seen this question.

Unfortunately people who have just taken drugs show this in their behaviour, words and eyes.
