Is it illegal to sell someone information on where they can buy (illegal) drugs?

A friend of mine has this amazing idea for making money of junkies for no risk to himself. I think it's a cruddy stupid idea, but if he's not actually breaking any UK laws, then there's not a lot I can really do.

Basically, his idea is to not sell drugs, but since he knows dealers, he sells access to those dealers. He doesn't do drugs (thankfully), and in his plan he would never actually handle anything other than information.

I think it's a stupid idea, and I've told him, but as I say, if he's not doing anything illegal, then there's not a lot I can really do...

In the US it is illegal to assist in the commission of a crime.

Perversion of justice (or something along those lines).

He knows where criminals are operating but not reporting them.

The legal term is "conspiracy" - which will get you the same sentence as the guy selling the drugs.

Well he knows drug dealers and doesnt turn them in so im pretty sure thats illegal
