Late & Bouncing Paychecks

Postby Forba » Mon Jun 16, 2014 8:11 pm

My last 3 paychecks have been 1-2 weeks late & then have bounced.(Obviously, I am pursuing another job.)

In doing some online research i have come across some questions that i haven't been able to find answers for.

My employer is based out of West Virginia. My office is located in Iowa. My job requires travel & has been conducted in many states. Which state do file divison of labor claims with??

Also, i have seen that because of the late & bounced checks, i may be able to file for unemployment benefits- is this true? And again, which state would i file this with?

I am also owed over $3000 in travel expenses.

Any insight would help- this is all such a mess!

Dear KJ,

Hope you're doing fine.

Regret the delay in replying.

You should contact the labor dept of place/state mentioned on your paystub. You may see more details on www.dol.gov and search for your state for any contact number or further details.

Best regards,
