In Pennsylvania I was pulled over for going 41 in a 25 MPH zone. The officer clocked me using an Accutrak device over .017 miles in 1.47 seconds. The thing is I was the third car in a line of cars that were all giong to same speed so technically I was going with the flow of traffic granted we were all speeding but I was the only one who ended up getting pulled over. The ticket is not too expensive but I do not think it is fair to be the only one that gets pulled over out of a group of three cars that were all going the same speed. Any advice if it is worth trying to fight the ticket? Thanks
Accutrak is a type of VASCAR, which is a computer used to calculate speed based on the officer's input. It is capable of singling a car out of a crowd. You may have been going a similar speed, but it is possible he clocked all 3 and you were slightly faster.
Regardless, the fact someone else was doing the same thing is not a valid defense. Unless you have some other argument, it is not likely you will be successful.
