"One who believes in christ." Woefully inadequate; Jeffrey Dahmer believed in JC - and you saw how he turned out.   Schelli 19 months ago

What Do You Consider To Be A Definition Of A Christian?

I provided information about the different ways you can be a Christian in response to YOUR question and then you say I was lecturing. Interesting. As far as rudeness goes. To be rude in this situation is to merely hold a different philosophical belief nothing more. To disagree is to be rude and I don't buy that.   Max20characters 19 months ago

Missouri and WI Syn. Lutheran also believe that. They can't all be right. They would deny a Catholic communion etc.. What do you think of having church on a Monday night? Do you think that is what a real Christian would do? They are doing this to get them to come in the summer since most travel.   Shasha 19 months ago

What Do You Consider To Be A Definition Of A Christian?

Postby Weatherly » Sun Feb 09, 2014 12:38 am

PS: Unitarians and Universalists have always been heretics. They are heretics because we want to choose our faith, not because we desire to be rebellious. ?Heresy? in Greek means ?choice.? During the first three centuries of the Christian church, believers could choose from a variety of tenets about Jesus. Among these was a belief that Jesus wassent by God on a divine mission. Thus the word ?Unitarian? developed, meaning the oneness of God. Another religious choice in the first three centuries of the Common Era(CE) was universal salvation:This was the belief that no person would be condemned by God to eternal damnation in a fiery pit. Thus a Universalist believed that all people will be saved. Christianity lost its element of choice in 325 CE when the Nicene Creed established the Trinity as dogma. For centuries thereafter, people who professed Unitarian or Universalist beliefs were persecuted.   Max20characters 19 months ago

You're concerned with not paying what you do not owe? That doesn't sound Christian to me at all. Jesus said things like:"If someone steals your cloak, give them your coat also" and "If someone strikes you on the right cheek, give them the left also".You seem so out of touch with Christ's teachings that I fear some folks might start to wonder if you even know the definition of the word Christian. Why did you as this again?   hipnek 19 months ago

What Do You Consider To Be A Definition Of A Christian?

We can 'show an interest' in many things as we pass by them and unconcerned the next minute. We can have an interest in something to the point that we'll stop what we are doing such as when we hear some nice music. An 'interest in Christ' means willing to make an effort to understand what his teachings mean. Being a true Christian refers to embracing what he taught, of LOVE for God and man. He had no earthly ambitions for power, rather his soul was already aware of spiritual powers beyond the ken of even the Roman ruler. His kingdom was of another realm. We have yet to realize we are all united in spirit.   goldie080 19 months ago
