Of course not. Shoot, the Pharisees had a huge interest in Christ. "Interest" isn't worship. Jesus clarified it for you: "Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent"(John 6:29). A Christian isn't merely interested in Jesus but BELIEVES Jesus, believes what He said and applies what He said to one's own life and choices(e.g., "I won't go have sex with that entertaining floozy because Jesus told me not to.") What the Methodists mean by "interest in Christ" is 2 things: first and most reasonable is that there's no point in having someone visit your Bible study if he or she is only going to interrupt with ridiculous objections and hatred such as we get here at Askville All. The. Time. The other purpose is that Methodists have liberalizes just about everything that they teach to the point that few to none actually preach the gospel(can't say whether they're better or worse than Episcopalians) and the Methodists don't want someone there actually looking to hear the gospel(because they don't have it.) You, dear , are "interested in Christ." You qualify. But if you want to actually learn about Him, you might need to go elsewhere. danielpauldavis 19 months ago
