Why doesn't my stepfather realize that actions speak louder than words?

Last week, I had an inncident with my English teacher, and I told my stepfather that I wasn't sure If I was thinking of quitting school. I took Thursday off, and didn't attend class. But today, when I told him that I had changed my mind. He kept talking about what I had told him the other day. He said: "You said you weren't going back." I said: "No, I said I was 'thinking' of not going back." Then, he kept saying that since I had missed 1 class, that I wouldn't pass the class. BULLSHIT!! My teacher said herself, that you could miss up to 2 classes, and still pass. And this is only the FIRST one for me. It doesn't mean that I'm going to become a 35-year-old Ferris Bueller! What's wrong with him?
