How do I file a class action lawsuit against Enterprise for hiring practices?

Postby sebastiano » Tue Jul 10, 2012 8:36 pm

Enterprise rent-a-car is discriminatory against single parents in their hiring practices. They have no reason to do so and a single parent could work their comfortably. However, they purposefully structure their work schedules to exclude single parents. When I interviewed, they asked very little of my qualifications and focused on my personal life. When I told the district manager I had a child, he said that only assistant managers could take time off for their kids. I didn't tell the VP during the third interview I has a child, but I'm sure he knew. He also only wanted to ask about my personal life. He even told me that I would be better off waiting tables, but I have a bachelors degree. I'm still upset that I wasn't given a fair chance at this job. How do I file a class action lawsuit?

Being a single parent is not a protected class. You are assuming that is why you were not hired. They have a right to hire who they want. They obviously did not want you. Give it up and keep job hunting.

Single parents are not a protected group, so you really have no basis for a suit. Women, gays, minorities are protected groups when it comes to hiring practices.

Usually in class action suits, only the lawyers make money. Further, you would have to find hundreds of people who were rejected because they were single parents. That might be very difficult.

u have a degree and you want to work at enterprise... motivated.

they do this for a reason. you aren't allowed to take time off. that's their rules.
stop being like that and find a new job.
maybe you should have thought about this before getting knocked up

You will need a lawyer and plan on it being expensive. Single parents are not a protected class under the EEOC rules
