My HAT is not talking, and by the history you have given, you have not a hope in hell of becoming a cop in my jurisdiction.

Your chances of becoming a cop is around 75% out of 100% . You HAVE to learn a lot before you even become a Police Officer. Some of your charges might not hold against your applicaiton because they're weren't that recently. But finishing bachelors in criminal justice would get you there man. Promise you that . :D Goodluck .

I think your intelligence level and grammatical errors show you have excellent potential to be a cop in a small town where you won't have to do much real policework. Sorru kid but i don't think you sound cut out for it. And aspergers doesn't just go away maybe you were mis diagnosed as a child. Good luck though in whatever you do!

As I said the first time you asked this question this morning:

I do not believe that your criminal history, as best I can understand it, will be an obstacle to you in applying for a job in any police department. I do not believe your asperger syndrome diagnosis, or absence of an asperger syndrome diagnosis (??), will be an obstacle to you in applying for a job with any police department. I do think that the fact that you cannot write a coherent sentence, nor use proper punctuation or grammar, will be an insurmountable obstacle to you in gaining any job with any police department anywhere. Was that answer comprehensive enough for you?

Yeah, what David said. How in the world can you get a Bachelor's degree with such poor grammar and spelling? You've been on meds for Asberger's but now not diagnosed? Asberger's affects ones ability to read social cues, which is imperative in police work. It doesn't just go away. I don't see how you could pass their background check or psychological testing.

Donald, there are two problems--one is, of course, the diagnosis of Asperger's and the fact that you have to take psychoactive medications to control it. Officers are routinely and randomly checked for drug use, and if a psychoactive medication showed up in your urine test, that would give you some trouble. You might be eligible to serve in a small jurisdiction where that testing isn't done very often, but in a large city, the presence of such medications would cause you a problem. You need to get a definitive diagnosis before you apply to a police academy. They will also do a comprehensive psychological profile, and they grade prospective officers on their ability to write comprehensive offense reports, their knowledge of the state penal code, and their abilities to handle varied situations while remaining calm and focused. Those things might also give you some difficulty. You might apply for a civilian job within a large department, or like I said before, apply at a small department. You would still have access to police procedures and your degree could come in handy. You just wouldn't be exposed to the rigors of patrol work if you try for a large department. The fact tht you were charged with harrasment tells me that you might have a problem with keeping your composure in a very stressful situation.
