Civil law vs Maritime Admiralty law, how does this apply to us?

There are two kinds of law in this earth.
1. Civil Law (law of the land) &
2. Maritime Admiralty Law (law of the water)

Maritime admiralty is banking law & it says that because you were born from your mother's water you are an admiralty product. This is why ships sit in births and they are tied to the dock and the captain has to give a certificate of manisfest to the port authority. ...

Law and international waters (I live in Virginia if that makes a difference)?

So I'm not planning anything, just curious as far as my rights at sea. Anyhoo, I own a small open deck boat that I use pretty often. It is my understanding that after 12 kilometers from the coast of the United States, or any country, you have reached international waters and no nation can charge you with a "crime" as the open ocean is not under the control of any government ( After12 kilometers from ...

Which ship is more important:Titanic or Lusitania?

Hello everyone!!

I am a Titanic historian and I am just curious to know what people think for my question.
For me Titanic should be considered equally important to Lusitania. Because, approx 500 more folks died on Titanic and no ship can beat Titanic in her significance in changes to Maritime laws and is surely the most fascinating ship to be a fan off.

I do not agree to the fact that people believe that ...

Can a someone explain this to me?

I was reading post regarding Birth certificates. My birth was never recorded and i can't get it recorded, I came across this post and wanted to get someone to clarify this.

You are not governed by admiralty law unless your parents signed a BC. You are
governed by Common Law (the Constitution regulates the government, not YOU). More
appropriately, if you are in fact a sovereign as you describe you are governed
by sweat-equity jurisdiction. ...

What do you think of this article on the U.S. manufacturing Haiti's earthquake using Tessla technology?

http://vigilant.wazzup.nl/2010/01/18/us-quake-test-goes-%E2%80%9Chorribly-wrong%E2%80%9D-leaves-500000-dead-in-haiti/

This article shows the U.S.'s ability and history of using earthquake weapons in Japan, Afghanistan, and possibly in Haiti. I did not yet check it out to see if it can all be verified, but it makes logical sense to me so far.

1. Not to mention, Haiti has oil, gold, uranium, iridium and other such minerals that the same technology can uncover as mentioned in the article.
2. It would make an excellent ...

Illegal Invasion: Did the British take LEGAL possession of Australia or did they invade illegally?

The occupation of Australia, by the British, was it a "legal" occupation or an invasion? If the premise is taken that Cook was under the juristiction of the Maritime Law of the time, then a huge discrepancy occurs because, under the Maritime Law of the day, written consent to the coming of them as settlers was needed. Said 'Letters of Consent' do not exist. Cook got around this Law by claiming 'Terra Nullis', no people ...

WH refuses help from foreign firms on oil spill

http://thecable.foreignpo... http://www.opposingviews.... http://www.miamiherald.co... Apparently foreign firms, and 13 government entities have offered their expertise and resources to help clean up the spill but the White House has refused their help. The reasoning behind the refusal of help is the Jones Act, which is apparently a Union-favored law. Bush waived the law after Catrina, and now people are wondering why Obama hasn't done so. What do you guys think? Do we need help from foreign firms? ...
